๐Ÿฐ Ingredients:

For the Cake:
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened

  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil

  • 2¾ cups (550g) granulated sugar

  • 5 large eggs, room temperature

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-process or natural)

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk or buttermilk

Optional Chocolate Glaze (Highly Recommended):
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream

  • 1 tbsp butter (for shine)

๐Ÿง Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or loaf pan thoroughly.

  3. Cream the butter, oil, and sugar together in a large mixing bowl using a hand or stand mixer. Beat for 4–5 minutes until light and fluffy.

  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  6. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry mix. Mix on low just until combined — do not overmix.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.

  8. Bake for 70–80 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  9. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then carefully turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

๐Ÿซ Optional Chocolate Glaze:

  1. Heat cream in a small saucepan until just beginning to simmer.

  2. Pour over the chocolate chips and butter in a bowl. Let sit for 1 minute.

  3. Stir until smooth and glossy.

  4. Drizzle over the cooled cake and let it set before slicing.

๐Ÿด To Serve:

Slice thick, serve with a cold glass of milk or hot coffee — and enjoy every rich, chocolatey bite!
Perfect for birthdays, afternoon tea, or whenever you need a little indulgence.
