Ingredients

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk

  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup (240ml) boiling water

For the Frosting:

  • 1 ½ cups (340g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 4 cups (500g) powdered sugar

  • ¼ cup (60ml) heavy cream (add more if needed)

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 8 Oreo cookies, crushed (plus extra for garnish)

Decorations:

  • Colorful sprinkles

  • Whole Oreo cookies (for topping)

Instructions

1. Make the Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

  4. Gradually mix in boiling water — the batter will be thin, but that’s okay.

  5. Pour into pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  6. Let cakes cool completely before frosting.

2. Make the Frosting:

  1. Beat butter until creamy.

  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing on low speed.

  3. Add cream and vanilla, then beat on high until light and fluffy.

  4. Fold in crushed Oreos.

3. Assemble the Cake:

  1. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous layer of frosting on top.

  2. Add the second cake layer, then frost the entire cake.

  3. Decorate with colorful sprinkles, extra Oreo crumbs, and whole Oreo cookies on top.

4. Serve & Enjoy:

Slice into generous portions and enjoy with a cold glass of milk or coffee. β˜•
