  • 5 cups powdered sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 4–6 tbsp heavy cream (adjust for consistency)

  • Gel food coloring (teal/emerald green for the outer icing)

Decoration

  • Assorted macarons (pink, beige, gold)

  • Fresh berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)

  • Orange slices (thin)

  • Waffle cone pieces

  • Maraschino cherries

  • Edible flowers (pink hibiscus, lilies)

  • Gold sugar decorations or edible gold leaf

  • Decorative miniature ornaments (optional, for a royal theme)

Instructions

1. Bake the Cake Layers

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.

  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.

  4. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk, starting and ending with dry.

  5. Divide batter evenly into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  6. Let cool completely before frosting.

2. Prepare the Buttercream

  1. Beat softened butter until creamy.

  2. Add powdered sugar gradually, mixing well.

  3. Add vanilla and heavy cream until smooth and fluffy.

  4. Tint with teal or emerald gel coloring for the base layer of icing.

3. Assemble the Cake

  1. Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread buttercream evenly, then stack the next layer. Repeat until all layers are stacked.

  2. Apply a thin crumb coat, chill for 15 minutes, then frost with the teal-colored buttercream.

4. Decorate

  1. Pipe white buttercream rosettes around each tier’s edge.

  2. Arrange macarons, fresh berries, orange slices, and waffle cone pieces decoratively.

  3. Add cherries and edible flowers for a lush, garden look.

  4. Finish with gold sugar accents or edible gold leaf for a royal touch.

💡 Tip: This cake is perfect for weddings, birthdays, or royal-themed tea parties — and it looks even better when displayed on a gold-trimmed cake stand.
