Families might ʀᴇꜰᴜsᴇ to take care of sɪᴄᴋ or ᴇʟᴅᴇʀʟʏ dogs, but they do not realize the amount of ᴍɪsᴇʀʏ it brings to the dog when they ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴ him. It is ᴅᴇᴠᴀsᴛᴀᴛɪɴɢ for a dog to be ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴᴇᴅ by his family.

Ray, an 8-year-ᴏʟᴅ Labrador Retriever, was found ᴡᴀɴᴅᴇʀɪɴɢ ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ in the streets of Torrance, Cᴀʟɪꜰᴏʀɴɪᴀ, after being ɢɪᴠᴇɴ ᴜᴘ by his family. The eyes of the dog were sᴏʀʀᴏᴡꜰᴜʟ and irritable. He was sᴛᴀʀᴠɪɴɢ ᴏꜰ ʜᴜɴɢᴇʀ. He looked ᴛʜɪɴ his body was ᴛʜɪɴ and his coat fur was absent. He was missing his home but the owner didn’t care for him anymore and ʀᴇꜰᴜsᴇs him because of his elder age and sɪᴄᴋɴᴇss. The ᴘᴏᴏʀ dog had to spend his go in the streets instead of getting care and love from the family. The owners may reject and do not want to look after ᴏʟᴅ, weak and ill dog, but they can not understand how much sᴜғғᴇʀ  it will lead to the dog one day ʟᴇꜰᴛ by his family.

Luckily, Ray was ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇᴅ by the workers at Carson Shelter in Cᴀʟɪꜰᴏʀɴɪᴀ. Volunteers met him wandering the streets. He’s hungry, ᴛʜɪɴ and so sᴀᴅ. They fed him, bathed, and take care of him. The shelter volunteers helped Ray gain back a number of his better health. After 4 months of ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ and care, he has ʀᴇᴄᴏᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ and is preparing to be adopted by an inviting family. It feels like very few people want to adopt ᴏʟᴅ dogs. But fortunately he was adopted and he loves human beings very sincerely. We just hoe he will get the love and care he deserves. This will be a home of love, sweetness, and care for him all the time.

Update: Ray has been adopted! Ray’s love for humans hasn’t changed one bit. He still responds to every human with love. Seeing him so sᴀᴅ and dejected in the video just broke our ʜᴇᴀʀᴛs. We hope Ray nurses back his spirits fast and continue to be showered with love and care.
