Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven and Pan
    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pan or springform pan.

  2. Make the Cake Batter

    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

    • Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. Bake the Cake
    Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before decorating.

  4. Decorate and Glaze

    • Place the cooled cake on a serving plate.

    • Arrange mini butter cookies on top in a decorative pattern.

    • Dust lightly with powdered sugar for contrast.

    • Warm the honey slightly until it becomes fluid and glossy, then pour generously over the cake, allowing it to drip naturally along the sides.

  5. Serve
    Slice and serve with extra honey drizzled on each portion if desired. Best enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee.
