Petition Calls on Starbucks to Memorialize Charlie Kirk’s Signature Drink

A campaign to honor the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk is gaining attention online, as supporters push for Starbucks to add his favorite tea order to its menu nationwide.

The petition, launched on Change.org on September 14 under the title “Get Charlie Kirk’s Starbucks Order on Every Starbucks Menu,” asks the coffee giant to recognize Kirk’s well-known drink of choice: Mint Majesty tea with two honeys. Supporters suggest naming it the “Kirk Special” or “The Charlie Kirk”.

A Signature Habit Remembered

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, often carried a Starbucks cup at public events and was once asked in a Q&A about his order. He explained that the herbal tea helped him protect his voice during long stretches of speaking engagements.

“I literally drink this for one reason, because I lose my voice very easily. It is just Mint Majesty tea with two honeys,” Kirk said in a Turning Point USA video. “And I drink like nine of them a day. Otherwise, I lose my voice.”

After Kirk’s death earlier this month, photos showing Starbucks cups near him shortly before the fatal incident circulated online, reinforcing the association between the activist and his preferred drink.

Grassroots Campaign

The petition has drawn signatures and comments from supporters who say the gesture would be a meaningful way to preserve his memory.
One signatory wrote: “I’m signing in honor of Charlie Kirk. May his legacy of courage, conviction and love for this country continue to inspire others.”

Others described the drink as an “iconic” part of Kirk’s public presence, noting that he was rarely seen without it while speaking on stage or engaging in debates.

Starbucks Responds to Viral Controversy

The campaign also follows a viral TikTok incident at a Starbucks in Yucaipa, California. A customer alleged that a barista refused to write “Charlie Kirk” on a cup, claiming the store would not “honor politics here.” Starbucks later clarified that no such policy exists and said the company was reviewing the situation.

A spokesperson for Starbucks told media outlets that customers are free to use any name they choose when placing orders. The company has not commented directly on the petition or whether it might add Kirk’s drink to its menu.

Broader Legacy

For Kirk’s supporters, the push is about more than a beverage. They see the effort as a symbolic way to keep alive the memory of a young political figure who influenced conservative activism across the United States.

As of this week, the petition continues to collect signatures. While Starbucks has not signaled any plans to alter its menu, the campaign highlights how everyday habits — even a simple cup of tea — can become lasting markers of a public figure’s life and legacy.
