Image preview

An Italian dessert masterpiece that combines layers of espresso-soaked biscuits with silky mascarpone cream. Elegant, indulgent, and unforgettable.

Ingredients:

  • πŸ₯š 3 egg yolks

  • 🍬 100 grams of granulated sugar

  • πŸ§€ 250 grams of mascarpone cheese

  • πŸ₯› 200 milliliters of heavy cream (chilled)

  • β˜• 200 milliliters of strong brewed coffee (cooled to room temperature)

  • πŸͺ 200 grams of ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)

  • 🍫 Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)

  • 🍫 Dark chocolate chunks or shavings (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

1. Whisk the Yolks and Sugar

In a mixing bowl, combine the egg yolks and sugar. Using a whisk or electric mixer, beat the mixture until it becomes pale, thick, and creamy—this should take about 3–4 minutes.

2. Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese with a spatula or continue mixing on low speed until the mixture becomes smooth and uniform with no lumps remaining.

3. Whip the Cream

In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. This means the cream should hold its shape when you lift the whisk.

4. Combine the Cream Mixture

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone-egg mixture. Use gentle folding motions to maintain the light and airy texture. Set the finished cream aside.

5. Dip the Ladyfingers

Pour the cooled coffee into a shallow dish. Working quickly, dip each ladyfinger into the coffee—just a brief dunk of 1–2 seconds per side. Do not soak the biscuits too long, or they will become soggy and fall apart.

6. Assemble the Layers

In a rectangular or square serving dish:

  • Place a single layer of the dipped ladyfingers at the bottom.

  • Spoon a generous amount of the mascarpone cream over the layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Repeat this layering process 2–3 times, depending on the size of your dish and the amount of mixture available. Finish with a final layer of the mascarpone cream on top.

7. Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly.

8. Garnish and Serve

Just before serving:

  • Dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder using a fine sieve or sifter.

  • Add dark chocolate chunks or shavings for an extra touch of richness and visual appeal, if desired.

✨ Serving Tip:

Use a clean, sharp knife or spoon to cut and lift neat squares from the dish. Serve chilled and enjoy every luxurious spoonful.

This classic tiramisu is a timeless crowd-pleaser—perfect for dinner parties, holiday gatherings, or simply as a weekend treat. The balance of bold espresso, creamy mascarpone, and delicate biscuits makes it one of the most beloved desserts in the world.
